In order to refine the use of TCN into a robust absolute and
accurate chronometer for the Earth and environmental sciences several
methodological approaches will be used that are described below.
To live up to the demands of the diverse nature of the approaches
and geological settings used, we will make full use of the
multidisciplinary Earth Sciences expertise represented by our network
(volcanology, tectonics, geomorphology, seismology and geochemistry)
and of the interdisciplinary alliance with our network teams founded in
experimental and theoretical particle physics. A schematic depiction of
the collaboration within the CRONUS-EU RTN can be found in the different paragraphs of this section.
