The rules for Marie Curie research and training network (MC-RTN) demand that successful candidates meet a set of eligibility criteria.

CRONUS-EU is a Marie Curie research and training network (MC-RTN) funded under the 6th Framework Program (FP6) of the European Union.

The rules for MC-RTNs demand that successful candidates meet a set of eligibility criteria. These criteria pertain to the nationality of the applicants and their previous employment history. These rules aim at promoting mobility of researchers throughout the EU. As consequence EU-citizens, and citizens of associated countries, cannot be appointed by a host institution in their country of citizenship, unless they have spent significant time (4 out of the last 5 years) abroad. The same applies to assimilated non-EU-citizens, which have worked for 4 out of the last years in an EU-country; they can only be appointed by a host institution in another EU-country. Under FP6 it is now possible to appoint up to 30% non-EU citizens for the positions funded by a MC-RTN.

For a quick orientation whether you are eligible for a certain position please see the flowchart on the left. Eligible researchers applying will be selected on the basis of ability, experience and potential of excellence, as demonstrated by their CV, presentation, interview and formal comments by referees. All the host institutions operate equal opportunity schemes aimed at removing discrimination on the grounds of sex and race.

The local (host specific) employment laws and salary scales are applicable for the advertised positions.
